The Sun Also Rises by Ernest Hemingway

The Sun Also Rises is a 1926 novel written by American author Ernest Hemingway about a group of American and British expatriates who travel from Paris to the Festival of San Fermín in Pamplona to watch the running of the bulls and the bullfights.

An early and enduring modernist novel, it received mixed reviews upon publication. Hemingway biographer Jeffrey Meyers writes that it is "recognized as Hemingway's greatest work", and Hemingway scholar Linda Wagner-Martin calls it his most important novel.

The novel was published in the United States in October 1926 by the publishing house Scribner's.

Due to the storm damage caused by Sandy, I am working late handling auto claims. So David has graciously agreed to head up our Wednesday meeting this week. I'll try to make the meeting, but won't arrive until close to 8:00. Thanks David!

David, interesting younger picture of Hemingway. You can clearly see the similarity to the older Hemingway in the set of his jaw and the eyes. Thanks.

This is an excellent choice. I have been meaning to read this book. I will not be able to attend the meeting (I can't meet on Wednesdays), but I will read the book and be with you in spirit. Enjoy.
