Like last year, I'm planning on volunteering at the Arizona Concours d'Elegance benefiting Make-a-Wish Arizona. I had such a great time as a volunteer judge at Italian Car Day back in Massachusetts, years ago, that I promised myself I would do something like that again.
Last year I volunteered as a car escort. Although I felt a bit out of place, at first, It turned out to be much more of a role than I imagined. I got to meet some wonderful volunteers, staff, as well as cars and enthusiasts. I got to escort and greet all but about three cars and their drivers out of the event. I even got to help push a couple of classics that refused to restart. Check out the pictures from last year.
I like the idea of the MSCA being able to give back in some capacity. There will be more opportunities like this in the future, and I hope MSCAers will find something that speaks to them.
The times on this meet-up are the time-frame I volunteered for last year, for reference. If you're interested in volunteering at this event, please click on the Volunteers link on the Arizona Concours d'Elegance page.
Based on my experience in 2015, after you register, you'll have to be on the lookout for a registration email about a week before the event. Then you'll need to chose an available role and date and time-frame. Move fast, as the slots fill up very quickly. People come from all around the country to volunteer for this event.
Once I register and get confirmation on my role, I'll post the role, date and time-frame in this meet-up comments section.
