What we're about
Are you interested in internal alchemy? Do you want to be more comfortable in your own body? How about calming the mind and learning more about this ‘Letting Go” we all hear so much about these days? If so, this may be JUST the class you are looking for!
Taught by QiGong Instructor and Classical Chinese Medicine Specialist, Stephen Schleipfer, this meetup is an informal class in which students of all levels can learn and practice qigong. During each 2-hour class, students have the opportunity to learn and perfect a variety of techniques and forms. The instruction offered makes available information ranging in the gross to subtle for each form and practice. Typically, the form chosen for the class will rotate over the course of several weeks. The forms are selected based on the dynamic of the group.
· Discover principles of movement and structural alignments of the body
· Explore practices to activate the energetic body
· Open energetic pathways in the body
· Dissolve physical, energetic, and emotional blockages
· Deepen the connection between body and spirit
Neigong focuses on the greater internal components that make up an effective Qigong practice, including:
· Micro-details of alignments of your structure and tension patterns
· How to lengthen the tissues of the body to release stress and accumulated stagnation
· Various breathing methods
· How to dissolve blockages
This group meets every Thursday from 5:30pm – 7:30pm and is open to practitioners of all skill levels. If you would like to drop in to try a class we like to recommend you call first to let us know you are coming. We would like to meet with you 15 minutes prior to class start so that you may learn a little about some of the basic stances and a little more about what to expect.
We would like you to attend your first class free of charge. The cost of ongoing class membership is $150 per month. This meeting is not typically successful when approached as a drop-in once and awhile endeavor. The process of internal alchemy is one that takes an investment of and dedication on the part of the student. For those who are interested in the process of transformation, we recommend attending class weekly and developing a home practice.
