Feast of Saint Junipero Serra (

Known for having traveled the west coast of the country, Saint Junipro ( founded many of the famous California Missions in the 18th century. Only days after Pope Francis' canonization of Father Juipero Serra, his statue was vandalized on private property in California. Giving his life for the Native Americans and the missions, Saint Junipero is honored with a statue in the United States Capitol National Statuary Hall.

There was an attempt to have that statue removed/replaced, as those who hate the Holy Cross fail to see its Message of Peace and Hope. On July 4th, 1776, with the help of Native American fellow Missionaries, Fr. Serra discovered and Founded the City of San Fransisco.

This Sunday, while anticipating to celebrate this American Independence, we will have some BBQ Delights, Beer (we have a couple of Guinness available, but otherwise one must be over 21 and if not accompanied by a parent or legal Guardian), & great Grill items. We encourage members to participate either actively or passively. Some just come and hang out, other times we just get together to hang out.

Prayer in Thanksgiving for our Nation's Independence

God our Father, your Son Jesus spoke to us a message

of peace and taught us to live as brothers and sisters.

His message took form in the vision of our
Founding Fathers, as they fashioned a nation where all people might live as one.

This message lives on in our midst as a task for us today
and a promise for tomorrow.

We thank you, Father, for your blessings in the past,
and for all that, with your help, we must yet achieve.

Bless our nation and bless each of us. As we thank you for our independence, may we extend its blessings to our youngest brothers and sisters, the children in the womb.

Hasten the day when our nation will be a
nation with liberty and justice, not just for
some, but for all, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
