What we're about

There are lots of beautiful parks in the area. Let's get some healthy exercise together as we explore them.

This group will focus on relatively easy walks along well traveled trails. Scheduled walks will typically be three miles or less and at a leisurely pace. Typical event duration is one to two hours.

If you prefer longer or more energetic walks or hikes, you may want to take a look at The Bucks and Montgomery County Hiking Group (https://www.meetup.com/The-Bucks-and-Montgomery-County-Hiking-Group/) or H3-Outdoors (https://www.meetup.com/H3-Outdoors/) or Appalachian Mountain Club (https://www.meetup.com/Appalachian-Mountain-Club-Delaware-Valley-Chapter/). All of those groups have longer hikes (6+ miles) on a regular basis.

Scheduled walks will be held rain or shine, but will be cancelled for hazardous conditions such as thunderstorms or heavy snow.

Photographers and bird watchers are welcome. We'll set a comfortable pace for the participants who show up at each event.

If you have a favorite park, or if there's one you've heard about but have not gotten to yet, please start a discussion about it and I'll put it on the schedule.

Visit Falls Township Community Park

426 Fallsington-Tullytown Rd

This is one of the nicer "something for everyone" parks that I've seen.
There are two loop trails starting from the same parking lot. One goes around a small lake (1.9 miles). The other goes through some wooded areas and past athletic fields (1.4 miles). Both are paved. I'm going to do both trails (3.3 miles total), but if some of you want to stop after the first trail that will be fine. There are no significant hills. Leashed dogs are welcome.

We'll meet in the parking lot near the restrooms. I'll probably be wearing a floppy gray hat.

If you can't find us, call me at[masked].

Visit Tyler State Park

No. 1 Lane parking lot

We'll walk about two miles to the covered bridge, then return. We will use the paved trails. There are some long hills. We'll take rest breaks as needed. Total distance will be a little over four miles.

Leashed dogs are welcome.

Walk the Pennypack Trail starting from Pine Road

Pennypack Trail Parking

This is a paved trail that runs from the edge of Lorimer park to the Delaware River. The trail is about ten miles long, but we'll just walk the first two, then turn back. Total distance will be four miles.

There are several short hills, some of which are fairly steep. The trail runs alongside the Pennypack creek and provides some really beautiful views. There are lots of trees which provide shade over most of the trail.

We'll meet in the parking lot near the restrooms.

Leashed dogs are welcome.
