Want to just have fun for an evening? - New D&D 5th ed. game accepting players

Want to relax and play a game with others to socialize, laugh, and just have fun... This is a long term campaign that revolves around the classic dungeon crawl and siege - both experienced players and those with ZERO/NO experience are welcome and everyone in between. AND this game will be different and this is how: 1. Players will start off as single characters BUT as they grow in levels and experience so to will their entourage. 2. New players can either show up with a pre-rolled 5th Ed character or you can be helped during the session to create a character. Everyone starts at 1st level. 3. Player character's will try to pick up followers and acolytes as they go along. 4. Once the player characters have the necessary wealth, they will be permitted to build (castles, dungeons, lairs) and recruit monsters and other races to man/guard/populate them. 5. At some point in the future each player will have the ability to subject a small band of pesky adventurers to their creation, the DM will be there to handle the rules knowledge and the DMing if the player who creation is being played dies not feel comfortable in doing this part. 6. This campaign should be enjoyable for all and as such there is an emphasis on roleplaying encounters and scenes over strict dice rolling. PLEASE NO rules lawyers, as they make a game no fun (zero fun) for the other players and are generally frustrating to the DM. 7. I personally prefer players who like to get into character and actually roleplay in response to the scenes I narrate. This game is for players who do more than just roll dice and quote the results of rules to the DM - not everything requires a dice roll and good game play is rewarded. 8. There is one modification to the 5th edition rules that all players must abide by in this campaign, it is regarding a rule that 70% of the crew who designed 5th edition hate as it is written ambiguously and is frequently abused by power players and rules lawyers - sadly the business minds at WotC prefer profit over game play since power gaming appeals to the Magic the Gathering crowd. This rule is the rule regarding Level 0 (Zero Level) spells known as cantrips - these are supposed to be spells learned by rote by apprentice casters as they are educated - to such a point as not requiring spell slots, preparation time, or in some cases even spell components AND can be cast at will. BUT here is what they are supposed to be - akin to party tricks and nothing more - at level zero they are to be used for distraction and really small effects. AND this is how we will be allowing them. They will not be allowed to used to make for example a Wizard who at first level is a walking fire ball machine gun throwing fingers of fire each and every round for massive points of damage. If this is understood and you agree to this then by all means join us. :) No game knowledge, no D&D knowledge, no rules experience needed at all. We will teach along the way. It is easy and loads of fun. My campaign will be in D&D 5th edition. We will play in both English and French - my French is only good in listening, my speaking is horrible. I will rely upon our French speakers to translate when needed. But if you want to try meeting half way then lets give it a go in parlaying. Everyone is welcome. Important - NEVER EVER ASSUME that since there is only one person RSVP'ed for the game session that you would be the only other person attending. Les francophones sont vraiment bienvenue!

New dungeon based campaign for those who like a classic dungeon crawl and siege - both experienced players and those with ZERO/NO experience are welcome and everyone in between. 1. This campaign should be enjoyable for all and as such there is an emphasis on roleplaying encounters and scenes over strict dice rolling. PLEASE NO rules lawyers, as they make a game no fun (zero fun) for the other players and are generally frustrating to the DM. 2. This game is for players who do more than just roll dice and quote the results of rules to the DM - not everything requires a dice roll and good game play is rewarded. 3. New D&D 5th Ed. long term campaign - No openings - Full party

Cineplex Forum (old FOrum, ex-AMC) across hte street from the Atwater metro station

This long term campaign has at present NO openings for new players. Please only existing players RSVP. You know who you are :) -------------- Important Points: 1. This campaign should be enjoyable for all and as such there is an emphasis on roleplaying encounters and scene, this means players that sit like "bumps on a log" (ever had a conversion with a bump? - exactly!) These are the players who only roll dice to do things without any roleplaying, do ZERO narration of their own character's actions and dialogue, and NEVER EVER wait for other players (i.e. not a team player) -> Important - You should not apply - you have the adventurers league for mindless hack and slash for that kind of play. 2. PLEASE NO rules lawyers, as they make a game no fun (zero fun) for the other players and are generally frustrating to the DM. 3. Your DM personally prefers players who like to get into character and actually roleplay in response to the scenes presented to them (yes, even odd voices). NOT everything requires a dice roll or speaking in the thrid person to the DM, when a fellow player is next to you and you are speaking to their character. This game is for players who do more than just roll dice and quote the results of rules to the DM - not everything requires a dice roll and good game play is rewarded. 4. It is easy and loads of fun. We will play once every 2 weeks on Fridays, from 6PM to 9PM.

D&D 5th ed. game - every 2 weeks - No openings - Full party

This long term campaign has at present NO openings for new players. Please only existing players RSVP. You know who you are :) ---------------- Who am I you ask (you should :) ) - I am a D&D Dungeon Master with over 40 years experience as a Dungeon Master - running games for others in all editions of D&D (even the little brown books) as well as a variety of other fantasy rpg systems. The longest campaign I ever ran was for 15 years with a total of 32 players passing through in that time - 19 remained for the full 15 years. Now I would like to host a long term campaign for you, and therefore I am looking for players (new to the game, old and seasoned, everybody is welcome regardless of knowledge or experience). No game knowledge, no D&D knowledge, no rules experience needed at all. We will teach along the way. It is easy and loads of fun. I prefer players who like to get into character and actually roleplay in response to the scenes I narrate. This game is for players who do more than just roll dice and quote the results of rules to the DM - not everything requires a dice roll and good game play is rewarded. New players can either show up with a pre-rolled 5th Ed character or you can be helped during the session to create a character. Everyone starts at 1st level. My campaign is in D&D 5th edition. Sorry I can only handle English for this as my french is only good in listening, my speaking is horrible. But if you want to try meeting half way then lets give it a go in parlaying. Everyone is welcome. Here are 2 quick guidelines :) 1). We will play once every 2 weeks on Saturdays, if all desire it, we could make it every week - But lets get it rolling before we make changes. 2). You can supplement your session with personal quests or larger party one-shots through an online session to be held some other evening when all concerned can be available. This option will be available as needed such as to complete something special (singly or as part of a group), a private quest/mission for a PC (singly), or something else. These online session cannot be said when they would be held, ahead of time since it depends on the players availability and by mutual decision in a particular party.
