This meetup group in intended to seek experienced and motivated individuals to use their skills to help in the launch of a non-profit organization aimed at battling one of the largest public health concerns facing impoverished nations: Severe Acute Malnutrition.
Every year, critical undernourishment (the chronic lack of essential vitamins and minerals) kills 3.1 million children under the age of 5 worldwide, and leaves 161 million stunted (Stunted growth: When a child is unable to grow or develop to their full potential, causing impaired neurological development and learning/physical abilities).
Our mission: To alleviate child malnutrition in the most remote areas in sub-Saharan Africa through an innovative nutrition-specific intervention (details concerning the methodology will be communicated through meetups). Our practices are in accordance to the Global Nutrition Report, the FAO statistical division of the United Nations and the SUN movement.
We are welcoming all skill levels and across an array of fields, including but not limited to: program development and implementation; health (nutrition experts); fundraising; marketing; finance; law; human resources; IT; volunteers. All talents are welcome – whether you are ready to take things to the next level, or you're just getting started!
