What we're about

All are welcome of any background. You don't need to be a Buddhist. Anyone can benefit from meditation without changing beliefs.

Meditation will be led in most cases by a resident monk from Sri Lanka. Those who are patient will enjoy the authenticity of the monks. However, English is not the first language for any of the monks.

Upcoming events (5+)

Friday Night Buddhist Mediation in English. Open to everyone. Beginners Welcome!

Sambuddhaloka Buddhist Vihara (951) 485-6644

The schedule will vary from week to week. But will include some of the following types of meditation: Mindfulness/Breathing, Walking, Loving Kindness. Handouts will be available, but you can also download meditation and chant info here: https://a.ooi1.com/Friday-Meditation.pdf Depending on the group and the monk who leads the session, chanting or reciting of a sutra may also happen. You may also be invited to tour the grounds of the temple after the session. This includes several shrines and a living Bodhi tree. Please take off your shoes before you enter. Grab a cushion or two and get comfortable a little before the 7:30 start time. If you have trouble sitting on a floor-level cushion, please ask for a chair, and we will take care of you. Donations are welcome to support the temple and resident monks. But feel free to come a few times to see if this is the right fit for you. A good experience for you in the realm of mindfulness and loving-kindness is the goal - not filling up the till.
