August Meeting - Proof of God?
One of our members has been playing around with Bayesian math models, for determining the odds, based on observable evidence for the existence of the Abrahamic God, the Mormon God, etc. This presentation should only take 35-45 minutes and will likely generate plenty of audience participation. The time and location may change depending on the number of people who RSVP, so keep that in mind.

    What we're about

We are a group of people in the North Central West Virginia area who love science, skepticism, critical thinking, who believe in the separation of church and state, and are freethinkers, atheists, agnostics, skeptics, naturalists and humanists.

Anyone with an open mind is invited.

We will be meeting regularly in Fairmont, Morgantown, and hopefully other cities in north central West Virginia, so feel free to come join us to expand your horizons, learn something interesting, meet and socialize with friends, and generally have a good times.

Monongahela Freethinkers are a dynamic group of freethinkers, atheists, agnostics, humanists, and skeptics, who love reason, science and learning. We talk about religion, atheism, science, philosophy, current events and much much more. Find us on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/home.php?sk=group_160616363959389&ap=1).

    Our mission:

to develop and support the atheist community

to provide opportunities for socializing and friendship

to help those who want to "come out of the religious closet"

to promote critical thinking, education and science

    to promote secular viewpoints

    to encourage positive atheist culture

to defend the first amendment principle of church-state separation

    to oppose discrimination against atheists

to help others and offer public service

to work with other organizations in pursuit of common goals

We define atheism as a lack of belief in gods. This definition also encompasses what most people call agnosticism.
