Jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire, local entrepreneur Nick Lonie went from a near-death experience to starting an online childcare business!
Starting a business comes with many challenges that are not obvious until you start. It is always educational to hear the experience of someone that has spent the last few years battling it out to make their idea work.
Nick is the founder of Kin Childcare (https://kinchildcare.com), an online babysitter booking service.
He has been hard at it juggling startup and family life, getting customers, building products, building teams, meeting investors, travelling to San Francisco (https://www.spacecubed.com/post/10-days-in-san-francisco) and graduating top accelerators (https://pluseight.spacecubed.com/alumni/2018).
Nick has graciously agreed to share some of the learning over the past few years getting Kin Childcare off the ground, including:
- Building the right team
- Challenges of the gig economy
- Lessons learnt from startup accelerators
- Juggling startup tasks
Don't miss this one! You'll almost certainly be left with some motivating takeaways and potentially business-saving advice as Nick lays down some of the realities of building a startup from Perth.
