  • What's exciting in the world of Java in 2017 ? + Presentation of DeftERP
In this session, The Java Champion Badr El Houari will go through the most exciting and interesting things in the Java world at present (Microprofile, What's new on Java 9 and Java EE8, Microservices ...) The second part will be a presentation on how Mohammed Bounaga and his team have developed a ready to use Open Source Java EE based “Enterprise Resource Planing” application. The main motivation behind developing “deft ERP” was the lack of Java EE Open Source “Real World” applications and to encourage Java EE developers to learn from and contribute to an open source project that puts Java EE core APIs (JSF, JPA, EJB, CDI, JTA, Bean Validation…) into action and harmony while following web development best practices! Since the first release last Jun, deft ERP is now surrounded by a small Java community circle on Github and Facebook that is getting wider each day and there have been also different contributions made by the community over the last couple of months! A new release is coming out with MAJOR improvements & a call to contribution from Moroccan Developers to ship the best java based Open Source ERP -MADE IN MOROCCO!- Mark your calendar. This is a session to not miss!

  • You shall PASS!
Hello again dear JUGocans ;) We're back again for some great content, learning, networking and sharing experiences about java and related technologies, software craftsmanship, technology trends and more! Session description: we've all been looking for that good set of technologies that makes web development easy and fun again, enter P.A.S.S (Play Angular Scala Slick) which is a webstack that takes advantage of the power of scala and the libraries built around it. P.A.S.S doesn't come with just a fancy name, it also bring all Scala Goodness, immutability, lazy evaluation, pattern matching, type inference just to name a few. We even took the pleasure to make a code generator to make it even easier for anyone to use these set of technologies. In this session we will make use of generator-pass to create a new P.A.S.S project, add modules to it, and dive in to the code discussing the code structure of the project.

  • MoroccoJUG 'Adopt A JSR' program for Java EE 8
MoroccoJUG is recognized as an active actor on moving the entire Java ecosystem forward (executive community member at JCP -Java community process- last year, 2013 JCP award in 'Adopt A JSR' category ...) This year again we are planning to adopt massively the java specifications (JSRs) that will be included at Java EE 8 (glassfish.java.net/adoptajsr/). Our goal is " helping to shape the best Java entreprise platform ever!" In this Meetup we will go through the entire Java EE 8 platform, present our priorities on adopting the related JSRs, level of contributions, advantages you have on joining the efforts (boost your career, acquire new knowledges, mentoring from international experts ...) Since it will be our first JUG meeting of the year, we will also present our roadmap for 2015 including 'Adopt A JSR' program and many other projects we will be running to help the Moroccan developers learn software craftsmanship!
