WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH BOOK THEME NIGHT
To celebrate Women’s History Month this March, we are going to try a new book discussion “Theme Night.” Read any non-fiction book by or about an important woman in history.
Try to challenge yourself and read a new book, not one you read years ago like “The Diary of Anne Frank.” Use the comments section below to let us know your choice so the conversation can be organized better.
Be prepared to talk for several minutes about your selection and how this woman contributed to history. You can also “pass” if you prefer to sit back and listen to all the interesting things we have to say ;-)
If you have female relatives or know women who might be interested in attending, invite them to join us and treat them to dinner. Hey, you can even bring your Mom! If you do bring a guest, be sure to add them to your RSVP.
If you need ideas, here are some noteworthy bestsellers to get you started:
My Beloved World by Sonia Sotomayor
I Am Malala by Malala Yousafzai
Cleopatra: A Life by Stacy Schiff
My Life on the Road by Gloria Steinem
Me: Stories of My Life by Katharine Hepburn
I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou
The Autobiography of Eleanor Roosevelt
Refunds are not offered for this Meetup.
