This is a meditation group for anyone interested in learning to meditate as well as for more experienced practitioners. We will begin meeting again on the second and fourth Saturday morning of every month, from 10:30 am - noon, beginning Saturday, May 24.
We first sit for 30 minutes of silent meditation, with some light guidance throughout the session. I then provide a 20-minute teaching. We share from our insights, and then close with 15 minutes of meditation and compassion phrases. This format follows a particular tradition in Western Buddhism called Insight Meditation.
The desire is for learning mindfulness, heart-opening, and peace practices in the comfort of my home and in a safe setting for all. Although I teach from a Buddhist tradition, people of any faith or secular tradition are welcome. My husband and I welcome diverse, multicultural participation.
