Moab Road Trip!

  • The plan is to rent an RV or some type of vehicle that can accommodate a decent number of people and carry all our gear and bikes. We would leave early on a sat morning and drive sat and sun to get there. Once there Monday threw Friday would be our riding days. And we would return home the following sat and sun. The plan is not narrowed down or specific at the moment i know there are good trails in Colorado and Utah taking i70 there and coming back on i40 we could ride some trails around Arizona and new Mexico. The RV option is going to limit us to 7 people per RV and the price for 7 people would be $430 a person including the RV rental and fuel. Only other cost we would have would be food and possibly campground fees to park the RV. It's also possible we just rent some other type of vehicle and take tent camping gear and camp out different locations along the way. We can change the dates if necessary but it needs to stay within September and October for the best time to visit! There is still a lot of planning to figure out but at the moment I'm trying to figure out who's going for sure so those people can have part in the planing process! But this trip is happening 100 percent!

Changed the dates to the beginning of September after learning some of the good trails start closing at higher elevations in October due to the colder weather. I say these will be our final dates unless anyone has conflicts with that. We can possibly shift it one more week but wouldn't want to make it any later to avoid the colder alpine temps!

Once rose rsvps that's our first group of 7! Awesome! I've also got 4 more that are mabys. So it's highly possible we could make it to 2 or more groups!

Yes that's cool with me! Only thing is with this trip it's gonna have to be a little more by specific numbers of people to spilt the cost evenly. If we get a lot of people we can always rent multiple rvs and have a cross country mtbing convoy! That would be sick! Also if we get enough people to have more that one group of people were going to have to have a lot better organization than the tasli trip between every one going! Now I'm not saying George didn't plan well I'm saying we didn't have our plans together between the two groups and sub groups of people that stuck together! But good to hear from you guys again defiantly welcome on the trip and any trip before then!

Holy cannoli, this sounds awesome! Count me as 90+% in for this! Would be glad to ride out in the mountains in the near future and discuss any planning details.
