Clinic Overview: This clinic will teach climbers technique to help them master overhanging climbs. This will include tips for conserving energy, lengthening reach, and keeping your feet on the wall. We'll start off by briefly discussing the importance of maintaining a good center of gravity before moving on to review specific upper body, lower body, footwork, and resting techniques. Lessons learned at this clinic will help climbers improve their performance on both overhung boulders and roped climbs.

You must be a member of the Potomac Appalachian Trail Club - Mountaineering Section club (not just this Meet-Up group) to attend. Please see the Member Only Policy below. If you are not a member of PATC-MS, please sign up at! to enjoy our array of great events. Thank you.

We have a 15 participant maximum. The clinic is open only to members in good standing, meaning those with paid-up dues and a liability waiver on file - go ahead and get these in if you'd like to sign up!

PATC-MS Member Only Policy: This event is for members of the Potomac Appalachian Trail Club-Mountaineering Section only, in good standing with liability waivers on file, unless otherwise stated. This will be strictly enforced by event leaders. Any person who shows up to an event that is not a member will not be able to participate in the event.

Cancellation Policy: If you can no longer make the event, please change your registration as soon as possible. This allows people on the wait list to join. If you fail to show for an event and do not cancel within 48hours, you will be considered a no show. Club members who have 3 or more no shows will not be able to register for future events for a period of one year whether its due to failure to cancel or the person does not show up for the event at all.

Reminder: Climbing is a dangerous sport and serious injury may occur.

    Hi everyone,

Thanks so much to all of you who came out today. It was wonderful meeting you all and getting to climb with such a great group of women. I hope everyone learned a lot, and please feel free to get in touch with Eliddia or me to share any feedback on how we can improve this (or other) women's clinics in the future.

Ice skating last night and fell on my tailbone. I think I should rest my back today.

I'm so sorry to drop out. I will be pulling an overnighter to meet a deadline and will be a zombie by 8am. Hope it will be repeated!

Hi Melissa, at this point we don't have any concrete plans to hold another clinic, but it's definitely not out of the question. Stay tuned!
