What we're about

Movie Night Petaluma is a group for film lovers. Like a book club, we choose a film, and someone offers to host a movie night. Anyone is invited to host. Most often my co-organizer, Tracy hosts at his cozy home on the West Side of Petaluma.

We show aII sorts of films - mainIy cIassic, comedies, arthouse, documentaries etc.

Members bring finger food, dessert or wine. We'll get comfortable and settle in for a great film, and talk about it afterwards. We can also simply enjoy getting to know each other. Film nights are a way of bringing neighbors together, of creating a sense of community.

So, if you enjoy getting comfortabIe, chatting with a small circle of friends, eating popcorn and watching a great flick, I think you've found yourself a new Meetup group!

Movie Description

"Julia": Documentary

JULIA brings to life the legendary cookbook author and television superstar who changed the way Americans think about food, television, and even about women. Using never-before-seen archival footage, personal photos, first-person narratives, and cutting-edge, mouth-watering food cinematography, the film traces Julia Child's 12 year struggle to create and publish the revolutionary Mastering the Art of French Cooking (1961) which has sold more than 2.5 million copies to date, and her rapid ascent to become the country’s most unlikely television star. It’s the empowering story of a woman who found her purpose – and her fame – at 50, and took America along on the whole delicious journey. [masked] Minutes
