Safety

The goal of Moving On is to provide a Safe place to meet people.

The organization does not screen members. It does not run criminal back ground
checks or even require that members not be married. With meetup.com members we may not know their last name, address or phone number.

We try to meet in safe locations. It you ever have any safety concerns about one of our meetups ask other members (plural) to help you. Our members want you to get to the meetup and then back home safely. Believe me the whole group will walk you to your car if neccessary.

Events that are people's private homes and camps are not listed on the internet. We do not invite people we don't know in to a member's home.

Please use caution and common sense if you ever agree to meet a moving on member at a place other than a meetup. Ask other members about the person you are meeting. For old time members, you may actually find someone who has dated the person, or knows their cousin or their ex-mate.

In this internet age, the person may be new. All we may know is what is on meetup.com. Only if they have actually joined the moving on organization, will we have their full name, address, and phone number.

As a minimum you should have talked to the person at multiply meetups enough to get to know them, have talked to other members about them, have their phone number and have verified the number by calling them.

The group does have to balance member privacy with member safety. For your privacy, it does not require a full name or picture for the meetup group. But to become a member of the organization, you need to join us at a meeting and supply a full name address and phone number. Which for your privacy, are not put on the internet.

Use caution and common sense. and we all can be safe.
