Sitting atop a high ridge in our South District, High Hut is both challenging and rewarding to reach. The unobstructed view of Rainier is one of the best anywhere, and if that's not enough, there are views of St. Helens, the Cascade Range, the Olympics and part of Mt Adams. High Hut sleeps eight.
High Hut can be reached via a groomed logging road (beginner to intermediate skiing skills are recommended) or via an ungroomed backcountry route via Anderson Lakes. Long steep slopes will entice expert telemarkers while snowshoers explore the more moderate treed slopes near the hut. Info from MMTA website.
We are thinking about making a community dinner (more info to come closer to day of event), but breakfast will be left to individuals.
Bring your 10 essential and sleeping bag.
