Spring Equinox plant study.
We will introduce ourselves! New and returning students! As our first study of the year we will talk a bit about the overall arch of the year's study: wholistic health, plant identification, a zoom in on the digestive system, bear medicine and the wheel of the year. The gardens are awash in early spring. Meet the emergent species and identify the first shoots of your favorite summer plants. Some are poking their fists through the soil. I have the several species I can share and this is the perfect time to transplant. Come to class and take home some plants. The theme for this year is simplicity. We will discuss simple tools for whole hearted living. The simple practice of noticing. We will meet 9 times total this year: twice in May and June once a month until autumn equinox. Feel free to follow the public event, and readi more about the class. Or feel free to call:[masked] https://www.facebook.com/events/330343444117332??ti=ia

What we're about

This is a monthly group for people interested in learning about the plants that grow around them. We will be doing plant walks, Botanical identification and medicine making. Most monthly meetings will result in a medicine you may take home to add to your families apothecary (herbal medicine chest). I will post topics at least a week before class. Classes are located at the Labrynth Gardens of Kyle and Rebekah. We have meadow, as well timber land, and many new herb gardens. My passion is bringing the knowledge and skill of herbal abundance to anyone who has an interest. Health is the natural state of things, plant medicines are used world-wide and are safe, inexpensive tools of health available to us in the form of common weedy plants, familiar kitchen herbs, and easily grown plants. Come and share your skills with us or learn something new!

Also see Herbal Study Group in Troy IL. who is a parent group to this one. They meet on the second Wednesday night of each month (7pm to 9 pm) and Kristine Brown is an amazing teacher and herbalist. This group will be meeting the first Saturday from 1 pm to 3pm.
