Shall We Play a Game?

Come join us for a fun afternoon with your favorite board and card games.

Please feel free to bring your own games and/or request games you would like to play during the event. It would be great if you could post the game(s) you would like to bring in the comments section. This way we can prevent unwanted duplicates and have a better overview of the total number of games available.

A small, basic selection of board and/or card games is usually brought by the event host(s).

For most of the games English rules will be available.

You will reach the venue by tram 18 ->Effnerplatz.

Some interesting hubs:
HBF, Karlsplatz/Stachus, Sendlinger Tor, Isartor

Get off at stop Paradiesstrasse.

Turn more or less right into Oettingenstrasse.
"Restaurant Leib und Seele" is ~50 meters across the street.

We are constantly looking for venues that allow card or/and board games. So if you know any please feel encouraged to tell us :).

A request for meetups in public establishments:
Everyone should order both food & drinks to help mitigate possible lost business as board games players tend to stay longer than usual.
Please also try to keep track of everything you consumed and don't forget to pay when you leave, so that nobody has to pay extra to cover alleged shortfalls in the end.

Thank you.

Hope to see you there! :)

So sorry to cancel at the last hour...I was hoping I'd feel better by now but I will unfortunately have to miss this week!

      Aw, get well soon :).

Reminder: Engineering works in the Stachus/Sendlinger Tor area. Tram 18 (and other trams) doesn't serve these stations or any other station between HBF and Isartor till June. You can take the trains S1-S8 from HBF or Stachus to Isartor and then change to tram 18 from there. Since nobody complained ;).. I reserved 3 sunny tables for Sunday :). If it's rainy we will be indoors.

Would anybody mind if I try to reserve a table outside if the forecast for Sunday stays like this?

Yeah same question here. I won't be able to make it this sunday, but maybe some other time. I'm kind of a board game geek though, so I'm not sure you play the kind of games I usually play :-D

The group always differs a little every time. If you want to bring a game go ahead. Chances are 50/50 that it will get played ;). You can also try to discuss a game in the comments section before you bring it. Some example games we already played: Pandemic,Thurn & Taxis, Robo Rally, Settlers, Dominion, Wizard, Category 5, Blokus, Monopoly. Most of the time people prefer to play shorter games with lighter rules though, because they can be learned faster and people have chances to regroup afterwards. Personally I cannot say often enough how much I appreciate other people also bringing games to the event (I only have 2 hands ;)), so I can only encourage you :). For example I would really like to try out Battlestar Galactica in case you have it (seeing your interests I had to ask ;D). I was also thinking about starting to schedule some smaller events on weekdays the next weeks which are dedicated to a theme, an author or a game and see what happens ;).

Thanks for the answer! I have Battlestar Galactica at home, as well as the second expansion. German version though :( I can take it with me anyway. There are other games I can bring as well, like Imperial 2030 and Cosmic Encounter, both have English rules and card text. Kind of geeky, but not too complicated. I'm pretty busy the next few weeks (including weekends), but I'll defenitely stop by in the near future! ^^

haha this looks awesome :) what games do u usually play?

All kind of card or board games are welcome. We usually start with a know/fast game, like nimmt 6, while waiting for the the late arrives. Then we split into groups interested in different games. There are a number of choices, and you can bring your own, of course.
