Pursuing a career path, especially in the arts is very challenging. From a business aspect it is incredibly stressful, and If you are a music creator, it is common to struggle with many emotions as you juggle deep creativity and the business aspect of your path. So much of what we do in the industry is "networking", and although we may be around many like minded people-the experience can start to feel empty. We also spend a lot of time isolated, working on our art and our business. We seldom get the chance to share with others how we feel emotionally, and to listen and empathize.

This is one of many support groups I hope to create, in a safe space to share about what we are going through in our careers and lives, and to listen to others that may be going through similar situations.

The topic for our first support group is: Feeling Overwhelmed.

What we will do:

Sit together in a comfy space and share what we are working on in our music careers, how it is going, and the stresses we are dealing with that is causing us to feel overwhelmed. Then we can share any ideas or thoughts to help combat or transform this feeling of being overwhelmed, to help us clear away stress and move forward.

Music Emerging creator Cynthia Brando will facilitate the discussion.
Tea will be served. You can bring a notepad if you would like to write during the talk.

Group will be held in the home of Los Angeles artist Robert Soffian who is graciously donating the space for our group. It is the same space that Music Emerging hosted its singer songwriter series for over a year. Address is in Atwater Village on Glenhurst Ave. Please email after you RSVP for complete address.

Note: This is not a "therapy" group, but a friendly discussion amongst other music industry professionals. If you need therapeutic support, please see a licensed professional.
