Hi, everyone! We are open-minded music, poetry, and storytelling lovers who enjoy meeting new people who will soon become old friends! We perform, feature and listen to a variety of music, poetry (spoken word and traditional), and stories: new and old, familiar and unknown, sacred and secular, English and other languages. Chants, gospel, choir, open mic, classical, improvisation, healing, folk sing along, poetry, spoken word, folk tales, and stories. Music for fun, music for fellowship, music for healing, music for moving our bodies, spirits and hearts, music for sharing and spreading love.
Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Raleigh, Clara Barton Room
Join us on the second Friday evening of each month at 7:15 pm in the Clara Barton room in Peace Hall on the UUFR campus for an evening of playing and singing together your folk music favorites. Music with lyrics and simple chords will be provided. For those of you who may not be familiar with UUFR, our campus is located just one block east of the Ridgewood Shopping Center. There are two entrances: one on Wade Avenue and one on Dogwood Lane. From downtown Raleigh, head west on Wade Avenue, turn left on Dogwood Lane, drive one half block, and enter UUFR's driveway on the left. From the west, or from Cary, Durham, or other communities, take the I-440 beltline to the Wade Avenue exit, and exit onto Wade Ave heading east. Proceed through the stoplights at Ridge Road and Faircloth Street, and turn in at UUFR's sign on the right, one and one half blocks from Faircloth Street. Peace Hall is the first building you see when you enter the campus from Wade Avenue. Come in the door facing Wade Avenue and the Clara Barton room is the first room on the right.
