What we're about

Give yourself the gift of vibrational renewal with musical meditation.

Kirtan is a Sanskrit word meaning “praise” or “eulogy.” It's a form of call-and-response chanting involving mantras or hymns. The chanting is carried out alongside instruments, such as cymbals, harmonium or drums. Kirtan is part of an ancient form of Yoga known as Bhakti, or the Yoga of Devotion.

It is the calling, the crying, the reaching across infinite space - digging into the heart’s deepest well to touch and be touched by the Divine Presence.

Kirtan is for all people. There are no masters of kirtan, no experts, no teachers, no advanced students, no beginners. The practice itself is the teacher, guiding us to ourselves. There is no right or wrong way to sing kirtan.

In a group, gathering with many who carry their stories, we come together, our voices finding each other until our focus becomes unified. We lose some of the separation, melt some of the hard boundaries, and call out together. All that matters is the spirit, the feeling. Don’t worry about what you sound like, feel whatever you feel, have no expectations, no inhibitions. And finally, kirtan is an offering, a gift to the great One who has given us everything, and to whom we can give nothing in return but our loving remembrance. To open fully to kirtan, to the singing of the divine Name, is to know this sweetest form of bliss..

Kirtan performance includes an accompaniment of regionally popular instruments. The intention is to provide a space that allows the physical body and mental mind to make subtle shifts on a cellular level for healing to transpire.

Come along with us for transformation as we collectively raise our vibration for the highest good of all.

Reiki Infused Yoga Nidra (Guided Meditation) at Sunlakes Country Club

Sun Lakes Country Club

$10.00

Combining Reiki Energy and Yoga Nidra will connect us into aspects of our past that no longer serve us. We will process our old thought patterns, beliefs, or behaviors through yoga nidra, and heal through Reiki energy. Reiki Healing is an ancient healing art that facilitates deep relaxation and healing. The word Reiki comes from the Japanese words Rei meaning “Universal life” and Ki meaning “life force energy”, “Prana”, or “chi”. The holistic approach of Reiki is Universal life force energy channeled into another person for purpose of healing. This energy is based on Universal love and goes where it is needed to stimulate the innate healing ability of the body. Primarily focusing on the main 7 energy centers or Chakras, either hands-on or with hovering hands that activate the body’s natural healing process. Reiki is a gentle and powerful practice that provides healing, guidance, empowerment, and purification. What is I AM Yoga Nidra™ Meditation? Yoga Nidra is an ancient sleep-based meditation technique that has the power to take you to the innermost, deepest levels of relaxation where your whole body and being is permeated by a peace of mind and profound stillness. It unlocks the mystical, integrative powers of the subconscious, as well as your higher centers of consciousness, to effortlessly erase your most tenacious, self-destructive habits and behavior patterns. It is said by yogis that 45 minutes of Yoga Nidra is as restorative as three hours of sleep. IAM Yoga Nidra is designed as more than a relaxation. It is a meditation technique that not only relaxes the body but creates a different relationship with stress-producing thoughts and emotions. Designed to guide the practitioner to recognize the silent place of being that always resides within us. The IAM method focuses primarily on quieting the mind and boosting the energy flow in the body (prana). This released energy in the body increases the healing potential available during Yoga Nidra and typically takes practitioners into deeper states of meditation more quickly. ***$10 Suggested Donation No one will be turned away for lack of funds. Family Meditation

Kaleidoscope Dance

$10.00

Kaleidoscope Dance Space Address: 2848 S Carriage Ln Mesa, AZ 85202 Price: $10 When: Every Friday from 6 - 7 pm Offering: Guided Mediation for Parents & children of ALL ages What to expect: Yoga Nidra translates as Yogic Sleep – an ancient sleep-based meditation technique that includes breathing and relaxation techniques. Yoga Nidra combines mindfulness practices into a series of breath, body and awareness techniques which allows a deeper brainwave state than typical mindfulness meditation. Because Yoga Nidra is done while lying down, it is very comfortable, making it accessible to all ages and backgrounds including those who may be affected by physical impairments. What to bring: Please bring mats, blankets, pillow, or even a favorite stuffed animal! Anything that might make you and your child supremely comfortable. Children today also have reportedly high stress levels. To help them take a break, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) encourages parents to share meditation with their children. The simple act of teaching children how to stop, focus, and just breathe could be one of the greatest gifts you give them. Our evening Yoga Nidra session is a great way to wind down after school and work. Kids and adults face many challenges, such as: An influx of energy that can be overwhelming Pressure from school, work and peers Performance demands in studies, sports, and job performance Difficulty focusing Difficulty building healthy relationships with others Bullying Competition Low self-esteem Managing emotions—such as anger, disappointment, anxiety Benefits of Meditation: Several studies suggest that kids and adults who practice mindfulness tend to develop positive traits such as: increased self-control, better attentiveness in class and work, and more empathy and respect for others. In addition, meditation may help children and adults manage challenging conditions such as stress, depression, ADHD and hyperactivity. Meditation gives the mind the space it needs to (re)discover the natural balance, goodness and discernment that have always been there. Clarity, calmness, and improved focus are some of the potential psychological benefits of meditation that come to light relatively quickly. In addition, there are numerous mental effects of meditation that occur over the long run. Long term effects of meditation: Better sleep Enhanced memory, concentration and perception Increased levels of happiness and compassion A healthier immune system Improved communication Heightened motivation The benefits of meditation often arrive after some time, we notice that we’ve changed, our mood is a bit lighter, and we don’t react with negativity so quickly. Our minds and our bodies are connected. Meditation leads to a healthy, peaceful mind. To see what meditation can do for you, join Sara Bear at Kaleidoscope Dance every Friday for Yoga Nidra (guided meditation) paired with sublime and soothing sound healing.
