    Ride Grading: 3.5 (out of 5) Participants must be comfortable with riding on the Road and maintaining 30kph+ for 2 hours. Weather check @ 18:00pm - event will be canceled in the event of heavy rain / lightning. Do check the meetup at the time to confirm the ride is on.   • T15 XC Trail for Novice

    Explore and ride the Track 15 with us, suited for riders who has little experience riding in offroad. This is a good introductory ride for those who have mountain bikes and don't know where are the spots to make full of use their fun machines. Ride Difficulty: 2 of 4 stars Start: Meet up and roll off at 9:00am Meetup point: Chestnut Nature Park carpark We will ride through T15 up to it's end at Mandai. We double back, then head to the carpark for Chestnut Nature Park and officially end there. Optional Chestnut MTB trail, not a technical trail but if it is your first time doing trail riding, I suggest to opt out this part of the ride. After a lap at Chestnut, you can have your bike washed at Chestnut point and dismiss. Do note that this might be for beginner trail riders but will still need good fitness level to complete. Another thing to note, we need to follow proper trail etiquette. Advance cyclists are also welcome, but sorry, we can't go fast for this one. What you need: 1. A MTB with knobby tyres, be it a hardtail or full-suspension bike heck even a fatbike will do. 2. Helmet, no helmet no ride. 3. Water or any fluids for hydration and some snacks for the break, no coffee shops along the way, so bring enough for the round trip back. 4. Spare tube or patch kit, pump, and some tools in case you get into trouble with your bike. 5. First aid kit, in case of emergency. 6. Rain coat or Jacket in case of rain. 7. Some change of clothes(for post ride). FAQ Q: Can I join halfway the ride? A: Sure, we'll try to stick to the schedule mentioned above. Q: Can I join but breakoff at middle of the ride? A: Sure, but just make sure you inform the host and organizers before hand. Q: What happens if rains? A: If it rains before the ride, we'll try to wait it out and delay the start of the ride. If too heavy or was prolonged, we will cancel the ride all throughout. Be sure to check this page early at the day of the ride for possible cancellation or delayed start. If it rains, midway the ride, we still try to continue, so be sure to bring a jacket or rain coat.     This is a leisure and revitalising ride. Rolling speed on flats 18 to 22 Km/hr. For strong riders who are joining this ride, please bear with our speed as we will try as much as possible to ride together as a group. Riders joining this ride must have experience riding on roads. • Ride Grading: 2 (easy 1 - 4 very strenuous) • Terrain: PCN/Road Tarmac • Bicycle type: Any • Pace: 18 - 22 km/hr rolling on flats • Cycling distance: approx 58km The first part of the ride is to revitalise our mind after a week of work and prepare ourselves to enjoy the weekend ahead. Please keep a single line along Old Upper Thomson road and as we ride leisurely along this stretch - 18 km/hr, enjoy the tranquillity and quietness of the surroundings. There are 2 slopes leading to Upper Peirce Reservoir Park which you can ride at your own pace. Great photo opportunity at the 5 reservoirs stop points. Safe riding is our priority and we will have a safety brief before the ride.     MBG is honoured to be approached by CNA to be feature in a programme to introduce tourist charms topics that are not the usual touristy spot and to bring something new to the locals as well. In this ride we will be covering western adventure route. We are expecting a few CNA journalists to be following and filming us during the ride. We will also be stopping for photo taking at certain scenic spots and breakfast stop along the way. By agreeing to join the route, you also agree to be film.
