Paper Prototyping: Making games without writing code

This will be a class on methods and approaches for paper prototyping. Ever wanted to make a game but couldn't figure out where to start with the programming? Or maybe you want to try out a concept without wasting a ton of time implementing it in an engine first? This is the class for you.

Please bring some materials with you. Just a bunch of 3x5 notecards would be sufficient, but chits (old pennies make great chits), dice, etc would probably be handy as well.

(this will be the last CiGDA presentation in 2013, by the way - next event past this is Global Game Jam in 2014!)

It was my first time attending one of CIGDA events. Totally enjoyed the atmosphere and the people I met. Great stuff, Chris!

Had a blast, and thanks for all the kind words. Here'a link to the slides I presented, and also included a link to nanDeck which someone mentioned as an alternative to Magic Set Editor. Happy prototyping!

Very sorry about the collision with the planning commitee, folks. That was meant to happen in a different room with a specific subset of people, instead of overlapping the entire meeting. alas.

Still, Christ gave a fantastic presentation! Kinda bummed I had to duck out before the end, but what I saw was quite cool!

Just learning about this in class. Would be great to see it in action along with the thought process!
