Thanks for having me. This was the first meetup I've been a part of since I arrived here in Denver two weeks ago. Got to finally meet some people who were into game design, like me. It was very inspirational and the support pushes me to carry my own project further. Thank you!

Just wanted to thank Judy for this excellent talk. It's really great when someone this experienced and talented in programming shares their know-how! Worth the drive, for sure! Nice seeing everyone as well!

Also - I may be absent from this. There's a family emergency brewing, afaict, which means I may need to stay by the phone. Judy, I'll email everyone I can over there to let them know what's happening, but we do this so often, the security guards knows the deal. Just introduce yourself and explain, etc.

Last time I was there I just went in the front door and it was kind of right there. I don't know if we'll have a room this time or meet in the general area.

Hi all. I'm just curious as to where in the college the meeting is being held? Looking forward!

Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it this time.

As you see, I've gotten input and most people are interested in the gossip system and how we are using it to further NLP in games. This will be more about the limits of NLP and how to work within those limits and the choices we are making to at least take the next step. I think the technology is not quite there yet, but with incremental steps we can bring it to games.

I have a presentation on using natural language parsing in Ever, Jane's gossip system. I also have started a new quest system that creates a new kind of quest I know I've never seen before and which is not listed in all those "types of quests" lists. Or I can talk about the ways in which we are automating our art pipeline such that new art can go into the game without any new code being required to support it. Or how to turn renderers on and off in order to support more poly's than you normally could without render lag. Or for pain in development, the trials and tribulations of trying to write an LDAP Unity plug-in.

I think those are the most interesting technology aspects to come out of our game so far. What do people want to hear about?

Judy, I'd love to hear about the NLP or, second, the quest system! I'd drive down for either!
