Proposal for a meeting to cover game jam strategies, approaches, and tools for completing a game in a short period of time. How do they do it?

Game jams are usually short and intense. How should one approach the challenge of making a game in 72, 48 or 24 hours? What tools do jammers rely on? What are the strategies for doing this?

+1 - Maybe we could schedule this one shortly before the next ludum dare for inspiration - and maybe some folks would be interested in forming teams for the jam.

Also i looked at the global game jam site and it looks like there isn't a site here in the Denver area... I wonder how much interest there is in the area and how feasible it would be to set one up at the university or something.

Last year Rafael hosted GGJ at D.U. there were like 50 of us if I recall. I'll get in touch with him and find out what the deal is. Perhaps CiGDA will have to host a jam site.

A CiGDA GGJ location would be sweet.

+1 - I dig this. Hopefully Dylan would be down for talking about his past Jam experience too, etc.

Surely we've got enough people that have done it or other jams in the past to give a decent talk.

If we can call this finalized at least as far as date and subject, let's throw up the meetup. I've got a bulk email set for the cologamedev group that includes all the meetings I'm involved with in November. Just pending the link for this one going up.
