Let's visit a beautiful 80 Ft. Three Tier Waterfall in the San Gabriel Mountains. With all the rain we've been having this falls guarantees lots of water with enough to swim in it's pool left below. During my last visit it had an additional falls right below the pool and lots of water along the creek. You will fall in love with this trail because of its lush greens and fairy tale enchanting forrest. At one time there were over 100 cabins in the canyon. The fire of 1958 destroyed many of these cabins and the following winter floods wiped out many more. Remnants of some of the cabins are still visible along the trail. Keep a look out for some of these along the way.
Be aware that there are a few steep drops therefore good trail shoes are a must. Also because of the falls some areas might get slippery.
What to bring:
Good trail shoes or boots, Snack, hiking sticks, water, hat layer . The usual.
From Huntington Drive go North on Encanto Parkway about 1.5 miles to the end of the street where you come to a gate entrance of Vulcan Rock Materials and continue into the short dirt road to the parking area. Where we will meet.
