This group is for the parents and loved ones with a mental illness. Individuals with a mental illness are not permitted to attend. Attendance numbers vary. Participation is voluntary and encouraged. A NAMI trained or professional facilitator is always present to lead the group and assure compliance with support group principles.

The group is free and pre-registration is not necessary.

Led by a trained facilitator, the Family Support Group is designed to assist family members, employers and friends of people impacted by the disease of mental illness. The group provides support through first hand experiences and shares coping strategies. Families new to the experience of mental illness within their family or suspected in a family member especially will benefit. Families of people with brain disorders often benefit from talking with others who are coping with similar situations.
