National Ham Radio Field Day

June 28 & 29th is National Field Day for all HAM radio clubs. This is a great event in which attendees get to speak to as many people as the can as far away as they are able.  I will be attending the Cherokee County Ham Club Field Day and I invite you to go with me! In addition to speaking to people around the world we will also be building antennas. Bob the speaker from the HAM class will be there. Plus you will get a lot of hands on experience with HAM radios from the experts. This club was top in the nation at last years field day!

I have included the website for National Field Day if you can't attend Cherokee County most counties have a HAM Association and should be participating in Field Day!

The Cherokee club's Field Day event will be in Jasper, GA. Search Google Maps for "[masked]N[masked]W" to find the park. The North Fulton Amateur Radio League (nfarl.org) will have a big event at Waller Park Extension on Dobbs Road in Roswell.

That link has a map and some links to reserve time on a radio. Hope you get to try it out. I'll be heading up the the Cherokee exhibit Saturday morning.

Station 3 – GOTA, FT 450D, Dipole and 3 element beam Team Captain – Ken
Station 4 – VHF, FT 897, 6 el beam on 6m Team Captains-Ron and Pete
And, most importantly, James James, our Field Day Chef. Antennas, antennas and more antennas, hundreds of feet of rope, hundreds of feet of coax, tripods, poles and push up poles. These are the items I have packed and ready to go.

You do not have to operate a radio in order to come to Field Day. Please come and enjoy the fellowship. If you are planning on coming and eating, please do. Let me know so I can give James a head count.
    Thank you very much.
    Sincerely,
    Your Field Day Chairman,
