Yes...I said Cookout.
We will have a cookout at a Rolling View picnic shelter. Those that RSVP get the Shelter number and
password to enter the gate at Rolling View. Your RSVP is a must for planning proper food amounts.
We don't want any trail worker going hungry after a hard days work. A hungry trail worker is a sad trail worker! Help us make sure we have YOU covered! Thanks to the Army Corps of Engineers for supplying food for our cookout! Vegetarians will have a Green Salad & Veggie Burgers to choose from. Ranger Dana may make a few BROWNIES for our Sweet Tooth.
Thanks to Great Outdoor Provision Company for sponsoring our breakfast from Chick-Fli-A at our workdays. Thanks also to Starbucks off Falls of Neuse Road and Durant Road for the coffee.
Make sure you bring plenty of water, bag lunch, and gloves.
Our Major Project for the Day is:
Trail Maintenance from Highway 50 to the Falls Lake Dam - Eastern half of the Falls Lake Trail. We will split up into small groups and scatter out across the trail sections for work.
The Work Plan:
1 - Trail Maintenance on Sections 1 and 2
2 - Trail Maintenance on Sections 3 and 4
3 - Trail Maintenance for people that
need to leave at Lunch - Section 12
4 - Trail Maintenance on Sections 15 and 16
5 - Trail Maintenance for people that
need to leave at Lunch - Sections 17, 18 and 19

Falls Lake Bad Weather Policy: The Falls Lake Task Force leaders recently had a meeting to discuss our weather policy for workdays. If the workday is canceled it will be posted on the website (Falls Lake page) by 9:00 PM the day before the workday. A mass email will also be sent out after the website is updated about the cancelation.
