Join us as we dive deep into Social Media. We'll look at social media best practices, techniques to build community, and overall engagement strategies using Twitter, Facebook, and mobile apps.
We plan an unusual program. The discussion will be led by Paula Jones, Director of Technology at the N.C. Center for Nonprofits, using Google+ Hangouts, because Paula will be in Concord, NC, for the Center for Nonprofits conference (http://www.ncnonprofits.org/connect/training/conference). So we’ll get a little experience with practical application of social media! If technology fails, we’ll have a discussion.
In any case, we'll seek to answer some of these big questions:
What makes a good social media post? How does mobile storytelling change the landscape of social sharing? What is your favorite social app? Why? What are the features that drive a mobile community? What are some brands that are doing social media right? Why? Who are some nonprofits doing social media right? Why? Who should you empower at your organization to tell your stories online? What are some of your favorite examples of social campaigns? What sorts of stories should nonprofits tell?
