Ever thought about doing a podcast or recording audio files to use in sharing your story? Perhaps, you were inspired by interviews done at the NCTech4Good Conference?
This is the meetup for you! Inspired by Ben Wikler's presentation of his MoveOn.org spin-off, http://TheGoodFight.fm (http://thegoodfight.fm/), we'll have a selection of basic to professional recording and teleconference equipment set up for you to experiment with in pairs or small groups.
We'll review hints and tips for producing podcasts and show how some affordable technologies are excellent building blocks for quality audio and photos which form the basis for so many popular podcast replays.
If time permits, we'll introduce some post-production techniques for creating "Ken Burns" style photo + audio for embedding on web pages. The samples will focus on Camtasia post-production which can include indices or be directly exported to YouTube.
Some simple public samples available here from the presenter: http://goo.gl/UE7mh8 and here from the last NCTech4Good conference: http://bit.ly/nct4g-yt-interviews .
The workshop will give you an idea of the level of effort, and expense, involved in moving from "person in the street" type interviews to near-studio quality podcasts. (Not quite to PBS TV levels, mind you!)
Have a question or topic you want to cover? Share it and we'll include that in planning for this event in this Trello page: https://trello.com/c/Wx4OF552
