Oak Hill & Plateau Trails - CVNP

We'll meet at the Oak Hill Picnic Area at 10:30 a.m. to hike 5 miles of the Oak Hill & Plateau Trails through fields, woods, and ponds.  Expect mud..

These are nice trails that run through a pleasantly varied landscape. The Park Service rates them as moderate to difficult (there is a steep uphill midway)... with an easier section warm up the first mile or so at a moderate+ pace.  We typically hike approx. 3 mph (which is not a leisurely pace).

The parking lot entrance is located at 3901 Oak Hill Rd... that is south of Rt. 303, west of Riverview Rd., and runs between Major Rd. & Wheatley/Everett Rd. in Peninsula.

*Please check the maps below... and note the route in order to be able travel at your own pace, regardless of your location on the trail.

See you there!

(Route: After crossing the bridge from the parking lot, we'll turn right and follow Oak Hill Trail (always staying right at intersections) until the Meadowedge Pond sign – where we'll veer left... and follow Plateau Trail back to the parking lot).

I didn't have to wait too long. Anf my grammar policing is less intrusive... I prefer to work undercover... or incognito? :-)

Great hike as usual Dawn! Good food and the conversation afterwords was so good, I almost felt like a criminal for being involved in it!
    To all a good week.

Great hike...the lunch conversation on the other hand... questionable. Just kidding! :-D Everyone was just the right amount if inappropriate. Thanks for the laughs.

Leashed, well-behaved dogs are usually fine.... but only you know how your dog will respond to a large group of hikers.

Greg... usually leashed, well-controlled dogs are welcome.
