See you all at 10, thanks for planning, look forward to meeting you all. weather.gov for Portsmouth says: 40 degrees at 10am rising to 48 by 2pm. Wind steady southwest 10-13. Sunny.

Glad there is a "plan". If the outside is too lumpy to go around New Castle. There is a great temporary play rapid behind the Wentworth Hotel that is a hoot to ride on the early incoming tide..I am looking forward to water that is not a solid.

Note if driving up Rt 1A the Sagamore bridge is closed.
Best bet to head go right to Portsmouth

I drove up the coast and the only clear put in's was Pierce Island and Seabrook Harbor, so lets go with Hal's Trip plan, Pierce Island parking lot is clear.

The Pierce I boat launch is on Pierce I Rd. in Portsmouth "across" the street from Strawberry Bank. The updated weather went from 5 mph winds to 10 to 20 which may make me consider not venturing out into the ocean around New Castle I. There are plenty of protected bays etc to poke around in if the winds are too strong. I was planning on getting to P. I. at around 10 and launching 10:30 - 10:45 depending on the parking/snow situation. Still open for other suggestions but am pretty certain I am spending late Sat morning and early afternoon in my kayak on water that is liquid.

Just checked the Portsmouth tides. Low around 10:30. Start at Pierce I (deal with the snow??) Paddle out through Little Harbor against the tide and go with the tide up the Piscataqua back to the start. About 7 miles max. Perhaps a 2 - 3 hours trip with a snack stop on the Ordione Park beach by the jetty.???????

    Just a suggestion.

I will check out the area for parking with all the snow, then select a location

I was planning on a Portsmouth trip. Perhaps around New Castle Island from Pierce Island or just putter around in Little Harbor.??? However I am up for something else.
