Thank you for the comments and participation. I also learned a lot from discussions with people; and very much enjoyed the pool session. It is a good day when kayakers get together! Hope to see everyone on the water this season.

    Hi Everyone,

Looking forward to seeing everyone 2:00 at the Portsmouth Seacoast Family YMCA. Thanks!

We have had two cancellations for the pool session today. So if you were interested in attending, please email me at [masked]. You can register pool side. The session runs from 4:30-7:00 after the workshop. The fee is $15 and includes a year membership in NSPN. Bring swim clothes, a PFD if you have one (we have extras), and water shoes. Nose plugs may be desirable as we will be practicing wet exits. Bob

    Hi Joyce,

NSPN runs weekly practice sessions during the summer at Chebacco Lake in Manchester, MA and Walden Pond in Concord, MA. There is also an ocean session at Seabrook, NH, but that tends to be more rough water training and practice in surf. I'll talk about these options tomorrow. The sessions are open to NSPN members. We can probably arrange a special session at one of these sites to review the material we will talk about tomorrow. Bob

    Hi everyone,

Looks good for Saturday May 10th 2:00-4:00. If weather permits we may move the event outside - so hats and and jackets may be a good idea. It would be great if people could bring lawn chairs. Reminder: RSVPs are required for the pool session, 4:30-7:00. There is still room, but I need to close off the pool by tomorrow to have a good count on the number of boats to bring. Please email me at [masked], if you are interested in attending the pool session, and have not signed up.

    Thanks.

    Hi Janice,

I was not aware that we could register through the website, so will look into it. In the meantime, could you email me at [masked]? People have been contacting me there, so it should work. Thanks!

    Hi everyone,

Still early, but plans for the New to Sea Kayaking Workshop progressing well. The NSPN website has a PDF Flyer on the event posted in the thread

    http://www.nspn.org/forum/topic/9875-eighth-annual-nspn-new-to-sea-kayaking-workshop/

    Download and pass along!

    Also, please RSVP to [masked]

    Thanks.

There is a typo in previous email. We will make cap the number at the pool session to 30. Of course, it is possible to just attend the workshop without going to the pool session. - Bob

    Hi everyone,

Last year we had to limit the numbers in the pool session to about 25. There is a maximum of 10 boats allowed in the pool, and we want everyone to get sufficient training and boat-time. If you are interested in the pool session it is necessary to reserve the spot. Please send the $15 payment to Doug Mogill c/o NSPN

    P.O. Box 341

    Derry, NH 03038

Checks should be made out to NSPN and NTKW should go in the memo section and a phone number provided. Also, please register for the workshop at the email address [masked] I'll be sending more information to both workshop and pool participants. Looking forward to the session! Thank you.
