Distributed Caching with JCache and Beyond

Join us on Tuesday at 6:30pm for pizza, drinks, networking and to the presentation on Distributed Caching with JCache and Beyond (Register at this link with the name on the ID you will use to enter the building:https://www.eventbrite.com/e/princeton-jug-distributed-caching-with-jcache-and-beyond-tickets-27606628168

Getting performance from Java applications just got easier thanks to the new JCache standard. JCache specifies API and semantics for temporary, in memory caching of Java objects, including object creation, shared access, invalidation, and consistency across JVM's. Caching keeps the data in memory when it is slow to calculate/process, or originates from another underlying back-end system.

JCache can also prevent vendor lock-in which we all want to avoid.

In this session, we look at JCache, the Java caching API- a vendor-neutral caching specification.

No need for proprietary non-standard caching solutions in Java land anymore.

This code-driven session demonstrates how to integrate JCache into your Java applications.

In this talk, Viktor Gamov will cover:

* How distributed caching works in general.

* Capabilities of JCache API.

* Use cases, best practices, and the future of JCache.

As a bonus, you will see how JCache support is already integrated into popular open source frameworks!
