    52.361633 4.882381

  • 1) Skating is fun 2) Skating in Amsterdam is even more fun 3) Skating in Amsterdam on the main roads with police escorts -- what more can you ask for?

  • On October 25, There's the traditional Halloween skate trip. So get working on your outfit and make you look fearsome looks possible AND DON'T FORGET YOUR LIGHTING AND SEE ME GEAR!!!  SAFETY SAFETY! SAFETY! :-D

Example "see me" gear can be seen and purchased in running shops and skateboard shops:

Or you can get creative and sew/pin/clip Hema bike lights to yourself :-)) ... (a minimum of 6 should do it if you're not wearing bright reflective bands, jackets or waistees)

The Fright Night Skate is part of the Amsterdam Halloween Festival ;-) for more information

Starting point will be at Vondelpark by the statue (Short walk from Hard Rock Cafe)

Does anyone know where we can rent skates? I don't own any, but would absolutely LOVE to be a part of this!

What safety gear is required, and where can we get them? Helmet, knee pads, lights, stuff like that?

      Hi Beth -
The safety question is quite a serious one.
This is one of those revealing questions where by if you have to ask ... maybe you shouldn't take part in this one-
if you are a competent safe skater ie you know how to break confidently and you have your gear... then you can consider taking part... night skating on roads with this lot is safe but not for newby skaters.
The summer night skating is better for new skaters.

Not sure who's hosting this event :)

ok, as long as there's at least one host :) Would like to avoid situations where no body volunteers & participants don't know whom to contact.

If that situation would happen I promise to cancel or delete it ... because I think it pointless arranging events if attendees aren't willing to introduce themselves as well as being introduced :-/ we'll see how it goes ;-)
