Winter Fire Colors Show

ABQ Bio Park - Botanic Gardens

• What we'll do It's been a cold start to the new year here in Albuquerque, and if you are still missing the beautiful colors that normally come along with springtime, the Winter Fire Color Show is going on now at the Botanic Gardens. The plants are an assortment of temperate and tropical flowering plants and colorful foliage. This is a great opportunity to practice macro photography. Please meet in front of the main gate to the gardens at 9:30 am. • Important to know The event is included with regular admission. Bisti Badlands with overnight camping

Needs a location

• What we'll do This is a repeat of the trip from Sept[masked] the above photo was taken by Lynn Black during that trip. This is a overnight camping trip - you will either need camping equipment or stay in a hotel (think Farmington is the closest). Camping at Bisti is very primitive - No Facilities. BLM limits group size to 8 - however there is no cost to camp. This weekend is a new moon meaning it will be optimal time for Milky Way pictures in this magical looking area. This also means we will be walking back to the camping in the DARK. The Cracked Eggs are about a 2.5 mile hike one way. Everyone participates at their own risk. Participants are expected to have their full name & medical information on them in case of emergency. This information should include the following: local emergency contact person & phone number and medical information (insurance card number & medications you are on & any condition you have). This is for your own safety. Plans are for both sunrise and sunset photography and hopefully we get the Milky Way (cannot predict the weather this far in advance). Sunset will be about 7pm so we will probably be out shooting until about 10pm depending (still working on the Milky Way details). Everyone will be wait-listed until I we can talk out the details. • What to bring Camera, tripod, water, sun screen, and camping gear. • Important to know It may be cooler at night and hot during the day so please plan accordingly. Bug spray and sunscreen may also be needed.
