My daughter wishes she could have been there. She *loves* to sew costumes, and has been begging me to find other people who do too.

Unfortunately, her only evening commitment during the week (orchestra) conflicts with Tuesday nights, so the only Tuesdays she could go are September 3, April 15, and June-August. Are any other evenings possible?

Ender, my daughter like yours enjoys making costumes and we hit this year's Anthrocon together. I was planning to attend -- but Tuesday's are difficult for me as well -- but it might be a good idea to get our daughters together since they both like this stuff --and they might be able to enhance their skills together. My daughter has made several masks (some with my help) and has also built entire body costumes for this year's event. You can email me at [masked] and we can trade information and phone numbers.

I was just reminded there's a birthday dinner tonight I have to attend, so I won't be able to make it. :( Looking forward to catching the next meeting, though.

This is more Keane's (DS11) thing. I have a fairly generic costume pattern he can modify as he wishes. I recently made a St. Paul outfit for my husband from such a pattern so he could perform for the kids camp at church. It was very plain, but a Mexican blanket spruced it up. I'm hoping for some inspiration on how we can spruce up the basic pattern and maybe one day make our using newspaper.

Lauren, feel welcome to bring whatever supplies you want to work with. Generally, folks bring in stuff that they can accomplish in a few hours--the group is really good for helping with fitting or working out details.
Andora, you don't have to stay to the end, but unfortunately (as I will be coming from work downtown), 7 is my early point. I hope you do come for a bit!
Steve & Jennyfer, I look forward to meeting you!

We finished a costumes for Otakon this weekend, while are working on several group costumes for DragonCon. My work with the laser cutter on leather is intended for costuming use.

YES!! I was hoping someone else in this makerspace would show some interest in costuming. :) Should I bring my sewing machine/supplies?

So many things we would love to attend, but the hrs are a bit late for us. Any makers that gather 6pm or earlier?
