Green Safety Level Orientation

Details

Want to join the journey to making and help us build our Nova Labs community? This orientation is your first step. It opens the door to the advanced Yellow and Red tool training and certification, is the passport stamp to much fun and personal satisfaction, and is a prerequisite for membership. Read the following details carefully.

Who should attend? You. If you have had a lab tour and are ready to join the Nova Labs community as a full member, associate member, instructor, or attendee, then taking this class is the next step. This is a mandatory action before REGULARLY using any equipment at the lab, including the laser cutter, woodshop, CNC, thermoformer, 3D printers, soldering station, and Orange Bay.

Do you just want a quick tour and to ask some questions? We welcome you to our monthly FREE Open House tour on the 3rd Sunday of every month. Or just stop by the lab in the evenings. Please sign up so we know how many are coming. The safety walk-though included with the Green Safety Orientation class is longer and focuses on safety and policies of the lab and is intended for people who want to start using the space.

Why is this mandatory and important? Our community is stronger when attendees and members have a common understanding of organizational structure, policies, membership benefits/levels, basic processes, safety procedures, and code of conduct. Green orientation is required for all members and is a prerequisite for safety training classes on the yellow and red level tools.

This is a safety requirement, so please do this.

Prior to the event, please make sure that you have created a Nova Labs account ( https://nova-labs.org/auth/register.html ).

Where do I park? If this will be your first time visiting Nova Labs, please allow extra time to find our building. See our contact page for more info about our location and where to park: http://nova-labs.org/contact/ If you arrive early, come in and chat with our members!

Class size is limited based on room comfort and effective tour group size. A reservation is required. Please do not just show up without preregistration.

If the class is full, please enroll in the next available class (check the calendar) or request that another one be scheduled.

Credit for the class is given for attending FULL class, including the safety tour.
