Topic: Hudson Institute Quantum Initiative: The Intersection of Policy and Quantum Technology

Our next event of Washington Quantum Computing Meetup, DC on 29th March, 2018 will not be at Nova Labs. This is due to some problem of the speaker. Her institution allowed to do the talk at their institution only. So please, ask the members to go to https://www.meetup.com/Washington-Quantum-Computing-Meetup/events/ and RSVP to join us.

After an international conference in October 2017, which included discussions on quantum computing, quantum cybersecurity, the international quantum race, as well as the merits of a national quantum initiative, Hudson Institute has recently launched its Hudson Quantum Initiative (HQI). HQI works to facilitate a collaborative quantum ecosystem of experts and to promote sound public policy to ensure that the US wins the quantum race. HQI consists of Hudson Senior Fellow, Dr. Arthur Herman, Ambassador Sorin Ducaru, and myself, as well as an advisory board of technical and policy experts. I will discuss our recent work, including collaboration with industry, and government, as well as HQI's broad policy goals. Additionally, I will discuss the plan for Hudson's upcoming conference to set standards for quantum communication networks.
