Every month people who are interested or work in the environmental field meet up at a happy hour, known as Green Drinks.
We have a lively mixture of people from NGOs, academia, government and business. Come along and you'll be made welcome. Just say, "are you green?" and we will look after you and introduce you to whoever is there. It's a great way of catching up with people you know and also for making new contacts. Everyone invites someone else along, so there’s always a different crowd, making Green Drinks an organic, self-organizing network.
Many people have found employment, made friends, developed new ideas, done deals and had moments of serendipity. Come on out and meet some people who are like-minded and get your sustainability on! Cheers!
The guest speaker will be Barbara Englehart from Local Energy Alliance Program (LEAP).
LEAP has great ideas about how to get around the "DogDays of Summer" and Barbara Englehart is going to share what Arlingtonians can do along with LEAP and Arlington County to save some $$.
Local Energy Alliance Program (LEAP), working with Arlington County and Department of Energy, operates the Home Performance with ENERGY STAR Program (HPwES) in Northern and Central Virginia. For a very limited time, two rebates are available through this program. Barbara Englehart is a truly dynamic and passionate woman who brings years of experience networking with major corporations to the grass-roots experience. Her drive for making things more sustainable shines through in all she does, especially as she brought the award winning Arlington Energy Masters to everyone's attention as a Green Giant Award Recipient.
