Ox Road, Fairfax Station, VA
Let's take a morning hike at a moderate pace around a scenic lake. It's a 4.5-mile hike with minimal elevation change. Bring water and, if you like, snacks. . Enter the park at the Burke Lake Park Entrance on Ox Road, Rt 123. If using a GPS to find the park, just key in Burke Lake Park. More directions are below. After entering the park go straight, following the road as it curves right and goes into the marina parking lot. We will meet at 9:15 to 9:30 to sign in and such. I'd like to leave by 9:35 at the latest. We will meet near the TRAILHEAD, which is just to the left side of the marina parking lot entrance. There's a big sign/map and I'll be wearing my lucky red Nationals hiking hat. I expect we will finish in about 90 minutes, about a 20 min per mile pace. So that may make this a D+ level of difficulty !
Admission to Burke Lake Park is free for Fairfax County residents at all times. There is no charge for out-of-county residents on weekdays. (There is $10.00 a car on weekends and holidays for nonresidents.)
