  • An out and back 8 mile hike with ~600 feet of elevation gain. We will hike in the woods utilizing the Fountainhead Park equestrian trails on gently undulating and sometimes rocky terrain with scenic views of the Occoquan Reservoir.  After 4 miles we will have a short break for a snack then retrace our steps. We will hike at a 2.0 - 2.5 mph pace when moving.  We will meet in the parking lot 15 minutes early to sign in.  Park entry fee $0.00.

    Directions:  Fountainhead Regional Park. 10875 Hampton Rd. Fairfax Station, VA 22039. From Rt. 123 (Ox Road-N or S) turn onto Henderson Road at the traffic signal. Drive 1.8 miles and turn left on Hampton Road. Drive 1.4 miles and turn right into the Park. Drive .6 miles to the parking lot on the right (after passing the maintenance facility on the right hand side).  Do not drive down to the river.
