NOTE START TIME 10:00 a.m. This is a 5-mile hike with essentially no elevation change. It normally can be done in about 2.5 hours. Pace will be about 2.5 miles an hour when moving. We will meet at Burke Lake Ice Cream Parlor parking lot near the far end. Enter the park at the Burke Lake Park Entrance on Ox Road (Route 123). If using a GPS to find the park, just key in Burke Lake Park. More directions are below. After entering the park, the first left turn is the golf road. Do not turn there. Take the next left turn and follow the road as it curves right and you will see the large parking lot as well as the building housing the facilities. We congregate in the parking lot toward the end. There are restrooms in the ice cream parlor building.
Please arrive a few minutes before 10:00 to allow time to sign in. We will leave promptly at 10:00. We can stop half way for snacks, depending on the group's wishes. Good hike for a beginner. Sneakers or hiking shoes. Bring water and a snack! There is no place during the winter to get water or a snack but there is another restroom about ¾ of the way through the hike at the Marina. With the wind coming across the lake it will be cold so dress accordingly.
If you would like to bring a dog, please read the NVHC Dog Policy. https://tinyurl.com/nvhcdogpolicy
