Nine miles with 1200 feet of elevation gain.
From the Old Rag parking lot, we will go 4.5 miles up the Nicholson Hollow trail to Corbin Cabin, have lunch and return. The hike starts out flat and then steadily climbs to the cabin. There are 4 stream crossings in each direction in which you step from one big rock to another. Crossings are easy unless there has been lots of rain. Hiking pace will be between 2 - 2.5 mph. We will regroup at all trail intersections and stream crossings.
Important: This meeting place IS NOT the Centreville Park and Ride. We will meet in front of the Haymarket Village Walmart at 8:45. Sign in, organize carpools and leave promptly at 9. If you are meeting at the trailhead, be there by 10. Hike will depart at 10:15.
