please note this is just a few points below an A. It’s 1750 elevation all right off the back. It’s up then it’s down. This is a beautiful out and back hike approximately 8.5 mile hike with 1750 elevation gain. That puts the rating only .25 off from an A level.
This hike is basically up then back down. Using the Pass Mountain trail and then the AT.
We will meet at Centreville Park and Ride
Trail head -[masked], [masked] there is not much parking so let’s carpool where we can!
Hike speed – 2.5 – 3.0 miles per hour
Parking Fee: Free
Carpool Fee: $4.00
Trail condition: Well maintained.
Duration: About 4 hours plus 1/2 hour for lunch.
We will have lunch at the top on some rocks unless the wind or weather is bad in which case we can stop at the pass mountain shelter to eat. It’s about 1.5 miles from the top so we would hit it on the way back down. Bring plenty of water and snacks.
