What we're about
Our meetups are geared toward guitarists and singer/guitarists who want to practice their performance skills and exchange musical ideas in a relaxed, supportive environment.
We welcome intermediate and above acoustic guitarists who want to hone their chops and continue to improve. The typical format of our get-togethers is a round-robin where we take turns playing and perhaps discuss what we’ve been working on from a theoretical point of view. Questions and constructive comments about arrangements, performance choices, etc. are welcome.
Attendees are encouraged to bring tabs/charts and share with the group as appropriate. We also ask that members participate, and not just watch; so if you join, please plan to perform. If you’re new to it you don’t need to do anything fancy; we firmly believe that a well-played simple tune beats a badly performed complicated one any time. You’ll also find that this is an extremely supportive, low-stress environment, with members who will encourage you to be your best and if asked will offer tips to improvement where they can.
Above all, we want to learn and have fun making music. If that’s what you’re looking for as well, please check us out. Because we meet in people's homes, we ask that you sign up with your full name and have a current picture for consideration into the group.
