Buy veggie starts from Multnomah County Master Grdeners

The following are statements by Multnomah Chapter of Master Gardeners about the sale:

This is our community celebration of home-grown goodness. We have ordered tons of your favorite veggie varieties to offer lush, local, organically-grown, warm-season veggie starts. Think tomatoes, eggplant, peppers, summer squash, and winter squash. We will also have strawberries and a great selection of edible flowers. Of course, once again, we will have an Incredible Raffle and Incredible Entertainment, along with a few artists that celebrate growing your own food. Joe Wirtheim of “Victory Gardens of Tomorrow” will be selling his gorgeous, inspirational art. Plant, Grow, Eat gardening workshops will be offered throughout the day by some of our favorite presenters. So be sure to add some Incredible to your calendar!

Incredible Edibles Plant Sale Saturday, May 3rd 10 am to 4 pmWestminster Presbyterian Church NE Hancock Street, between 16th & 17th Avenue

It’s time to envision your kitchen garden...harvesting nutritious, fresh-picked goodness for your table!

Take a look at the luscious array of local, organically-grown vegetable starts we are offering. You’ll find heirlooms and hybrids among our fantastic varieties of tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuces and more. Varieties offered are those that have been shown to thrive right here in our Pacific Northwest climate.

We will have over 170 varieties of vegetables/fruit/herbs/flowers to choose from at incredibly reasonable prices. Most veggie jumbo 6-packs are $3, veggies (3.5” pots) $2.50, herbs (4”round pots) $3.

Note: Occasionally ‘nature’ happens and the grower experiences a crop failure or the starts might not be at a size ready for market – so this is a list of those veggies/fruits/herbs/flowers that we have ordered.

For best selection, arrive early.

I'll be volunteering there in the morning.  I hope to see you there!

Happy Gardening!

PS reminders will be emailed.  No need to RSVP.

Absolutely wonderful sale! I made my list checked it twice, packed the wagon in the car along with Handsome Husband & off we went. Go there right as it opened, divided the list, easily found everything we wanted & made it smoothly through checkout. Maybe 10 mins total from arrival to departure. Lot's of helpful volunteers made everything go like a well oiled machine! Score one for the Master Gardeners! They rocked it!

Have bought my veggie starts from this sale for the past two years. Looking forward to buying for my third year. These starts far exceed plants bought at any local nursery. This sale supports Master Gardeners as well which is also a very great thing!
